Overnight SR 99 lane closures in south King County continue starting Monday, Sept. 22

Burien, WALocal News

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will enact overnight lane closures on SR 99 from Monday, Sept. 22, to Friday, Sept. 26. Lanes will close nightly from 9 p. m.

to 5 a. m. between South 200th Street in SeaTac and SR 516 in Des Moines. Local streets intersecting with SR 99 may also face intermittent closures during this period. Signed detours will assist motorists in navigating around the closures.

Contractor crews are close to finishing a project that has repaved all lanes and upgraded more than 30 sidewalk ramps to modern Americans with Disabilities Act standards. This project aims to improve accessibility and road quality in the area. Real-time travel updates are available through the WSDOT mobile app and Travel Center Map. WSDOT expects to complete the project later this fall, enhancing safety and accessibility for local residents.
