Burien Library to host candidate forums this fall for local school board and city council races

The League of Women Voters of South King County will host two candidate forums at Burien Library this fall, offering residents an opportunity to interact with local candidates. The first forum, scheduled for Sept. 30, will spotlight candidates for the Highline Public Schools Board of Directors and is co-sponsored by the Highline Special Needs PTA and the AAUW. The second forum on Oct. 7 will feature Burien City Council candidates.

Both forums are set from 6 to 7:30 p. m. and will be moderated by volunteers from the League. These events aim to promote informed participation in the upcoming Nov. 4 General Election.

Founded in 1920, the League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to enhancing civic engagement and understanding of public policy.
