OBITUARY Longtime Burien resident Guy MacDonald Harper, 92, passed away peacefully on Aug. 26

Guy MacDonald Harper, a beloved resident of Burien, WA, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on August 26, 2025. Born on September 12, 1932, in Seattle, he developed a love for adventure through summers spent at Three Tree Point. Harper excelled in rowing during his time at the University of Washington and served in the Naval Air Reserves. He was instrumental in founding the Ancient Mariners Club and was known for his artistic talents, particularly in wood carving. His contributions to the community included civic projects like the arch at Lake Burien Park and co-authoring a local history book in 2010.

Harper's generosity and ability to inspire others left a lasting impact on those he met. He is survived by his wife Pam, three children, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorial services are set for September 26, 2025, at Lake Burien Presbyterian Church.
