Two 19-year-olds arrested after road rage shooting and crash on SR 509

Seattle Police arrested two 19-year-olds after a road rage incident escalated into a shooting and crash on SR 509 on August 3, 2025. A 54-year-old man reported being punched and threatened with a handgun after leaving a parking lot on Harbor Ave SW. As he drove away, a gunshot rang out, and he later discovered bullet holes in his vehicle. Following the suspects, he called 911, which led to their arrest after their vehicle crashed on the highway. Authorities recovered bullet casings at the scene and a bag of bullets near the crash site, but no firearm was located.

The suspects face charges of assault and DUI. Multiple agencies, including the Seattle Fire Department and Washington State Patrol, assisted at the scene. Detectives from the Gun Violence Reduction Unit are actively investigating the incident.
