ELECTION RESULTS 1 Moore, Mndez and Garcia lead in Burien City Council contests Obras Schilling will move on

The first round of results from Burien's primary elections indicates a highly competitive atmosphere as voters prepare for the November General Election. Incumbents Sarah Moore and Hugo Garcia lead their respective City Council races, with newcomers Sam Méndez and Marie Barbon also showing strong support. In a surprising twist, progressive challenger Katie Wilson holds a slight edge over incumbent Mayor Bruce Harrell in the Seattle Mayor's race, with 46. 21% of the votes. Girmay Zahilay leads the race for King County Executive, garnering 40.

39% of the votes, suggesting strong backing for his candidacy. Voter turnout is recorded at 15. 88% in Burien, with 4,823 ballots counted so far. The results will continue to be updated until votes are certified on August 19. The top two candidates in each race will move on to the general election, regardless of their party affiliation.

This election cycle has highlighted emerging local leaders and shifting voter preferences in the region.
