The Burien UFO Festival (BUFO) will take place on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025, in Olde Burien, providing a full day of entertainment including live music, local vendors, and a much-anticipated alien costume contest. The festival begins at 11:30 a. m. and features performances from various artists, with the costume contest scheduled for 4 p.

m. Organizers emphasize the debut of visionary artist Joseph Brooks, whose immersive work explores themes of energy and consciousness, marking a special highlight for attendees. Additionally, fans of sci-fi literature can meet Aaron Ryan, author of The Dissonance Trilogy, which features intergalactic adventures and suspenseful storytelling. BUFO has evolved into a significant summer event since its launch in 2014, founded by filmmaker John White to celebrate local UFO sightings and encounters. The festival fosters community engagement and creativity, attracting families and sci-fi fans alike.

A preview of Brooks' artwork is available online, and Ryan will be signing copies of his books at the festival. This year’s festival promises to deliver a unique blend of entertainment, art, and literature in a festive atmosphere.
