Highline School Board Director Damarys Espinoza announces candidacy

Dr. Damarys Espinoza officially launched her campaign for re-election to the Highline Public Schools Board, with the election scheduled for August 5. A lifelong educator and mother of three, she is dedicated to ensuring every student has the opportunity to learn and thrive. Espinoza holds a Ph. D.

in sociocultural and medical anthropology from the University of Washington and currently supports families experiencing homelessness through a nonprofit. Her campaign prioritizes holistic student support, empowering educators, and strengthening family and community engagement. Espinoza's personal experiences as a first-generation college graduate and daughter of Mexican immigrants enhance her understanding of the challenges many families face.
