The Hi-Liners Musical Theatre stages Disney’s Newsies at the Highline Performing Arts Center through August 3. This energetic production captures the spirit of the 1899 Newsboys’ Strike in New York City, highlighting the journey of Jack Kelly, a newsboy who rallies his peers against exploitative practices. The Tony Award-winning musical showcases vibrant choreography and memorable songs, emphasizing themes of justice and resilience. Performances are scheduled for 7 p. m.

on Fridays and 3 p. m. on Saturdays and Sundays, making it accessible for various audiences. Recommended for ages 10 and up, the show is family-friendly, although it features mild staged fights and occasional curse words. The company anticipates that the performance will inspire audiences to "seize the day.

" With its combination of entertainment and social commentary, this production appeals to both long-time fans and first-time viewers. The Highline Performing Arts Center is located at 401 S. 152nd Street, Burien.
