Kids can learn how to make Pinecone Bird Feeders for free at New Start Garden this Saturday, July 26
Families can engage in a creative outdoor workshop at Burien’s New Start Community Garden on July 26, where children will learn to make pinecone bird feeders. The free class, sponsored by the Burien Arts Association, starts at 1 p. m. and aims to foster creativity and eco-friendly practices among young participants. Those interested are encouraged to pre-register via Eventbrite and arrive early to get settled.
The workshop will involve coating pinecones with peanut butter and seeds, providing a fun and interactive way to attract birds. Instructor Gabee Rafert will lead the session, with support from Burien Arts, 4Culture, and ArtsWA. This event highlights the importance of outdoor activities for children, promoting hands-on learning and nature engagement. The serene garden setting offers a perfect backdrop for families to enjoy a day outside, away from screens. Free parking is available, making it accessible for all who wish to attend.
