Burien street food vendor shut down by Public Health Seattle King County over violations

Burien, WALocal News

Aguas Frescas Twins, a street food vendor located near 1st Ave South and SW 143rd Street in Burien, faced closure by Public Health — Seattle & King County on July 16, 2025, due to multiple health violations. Inspectors identified several imminent health hazards, including the absence of handwashing facilities, lack of hot water, and insufficient refrigeration for perishable items. This immediate closure will remain in effect until the vendor corrects the violations and secures a valid operating permit. Despite the serious nature of the violations, no illness complaints have been reported as of July 17. Public Health emphasizes that such conditions significantly increase the risk of foodborne illnesses among customers.

The vendor's operations are now halted, highlighting the importance of adherence to health regulations in the food service industry. Public Health's closure list serves as a resource for consumers to stay informed about food safety issues. Vendors must comply with health codes to ensure public safety and regain their operating status.
