UPDATE Burien Town Square Parks Water Fountain undergoing final repairs, isnt quite open yet

Burien, WALocal News

The water fountain at Burien's Town Square Park continues to undergo testing and is not yet fully operational, according to city officials. While it has started running intermittently, final repairs are necessary before it can open completely. Located at 480 SW 152nd Street, this fountain is a beloved feature for families during the summer months. With a Heat Advisory in effect across King County, temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s, increasing community interest in the fountain's status. Delays in repairs were attributed to crucial mechanical parts being backordered, prompting inquiries from the public.

City staff are committed to ensuring the fountain operates safely and consistently before its full reopening. Burien City Councilmember Stephanie Mora mistakenly announced the fountain's reopening, which city officials later corrected. The city appreciates community patience as it works through the remaining issues.
