FREE Tree Point Giveaway event will be this weekend, June 29-30

Burien, WALocal News

The ‘Free Tree Point’ giveaway event will take place in Burien's Three Tree Point neighborhood on June 29-30, 2024, from 9 a. m. to 4 p. m. Residents on SW 172nd Street, SW 171st Street, Three Tree Point Lane, and Maplewild Ave SW can place unwanted items outside their homes for others to take.

To facilitate the giveaway, participants should add a large “FREE STUFF” sign to their items. The event operates on a first-come, first-served basis, with no holds permitted, and any items left at the end must be taken back by the homeowners. This initiative, modeled after a successful trial last year, promotes community spirit and sustainability. Organizers encourage residents to ensure they are offering usable items rather than junk. Without a main organizer, the event relies on community participation to gauge its effectiveness.

The goal is to transform the neighborhood into a vibrant exchange of goods, reducing waste and fostering neighborly connections.
