Flying saucers generator abducted from Dog Park ahead of Aug. 16 Burien UFO Festival

Burien, WALocal News

An inflatable flying saucer, a centerpiece for the Burien UFO Festival, was deflated after a Honda generator was stolen overnight from a local dog park. Founder John White reported the generator's loss, valued at nearly $2,000, and expressed his disappointment about the theft. The festival, scheduled for August 16 in Olde Burien, will feature music, costumes, food trucks, and programming centered on UFOs and the paranormal. Despite the setback, White remains optimistic and has acquired a replacement generator to continue promoting the event. Founded in 2014, the festival commemorates the “Maury Island Incident,” a famous UFO sighting linked to early reports of the “Men in Black.

” White mentioned that community support is strong even after the incident. He humorously noted that while the flying saucer is deflated, the spirit of the festival persists. Vendors and artists are still encouraged to participate by reaching out for more information.
