Maritime High School Principal Tremain Holloway receives Public Official of the Year Award

Tremain Holloway, principal of Maritime High School, received the prestigious ‘Public Official of the Year’ award from the Seattle Propeller Club for his exceptional leadership in maritime education. This award recognizes local leaders who show a deep understanding and appreciation for the maritime industry. Under Holloway’s leadership, the school has developed valuable partnerships with local businesses, offering students real-world internships and hands-on learning experiences. Holloway is a strong advocate for increasing diversity within the maritime sector, aiming to create opportunities for underrepresented groups. He previously served as co-principal at Highline High School and as assistant principal at Raisbeck Aviation High School.

“As educators, we are responsible for preparing our students for the future,” he remarked, emphasizing the maritime industry's potential. The Seattle Propeller Club presented the award during a ceremony on May 12, 2023. This recognition not only honors Holloway but also highlights the growing importance of diversity and inclusion in education and the maritime industry.
