UPDATE Suspect wanted in connection with Sunday vehicular homicide in Burien has been arrested
On February 25, 2024, a suspect linked to a fatal crash in Burien was arrested in Tumwater. The incident, which involved a stolen truck, resulted in the death of a Jeep driver and serious injuries to a young child. KCSO deputies had observed the stolen vehicle parked in SeaTac before the driver fled at high speeds. The suspect, a white or Hispanic male in his early 20s, abandoned the truck and escaped on foot. After a coordinated search, law enforcement found him asleep in a white Toyota Corolla at a rest area along I-5.
He was apprehended without incident by WSP troopers and local agencies. The suspect faces charges of vehicular homicide, reflecting the seriousness of the crime. The King County Sheriff’s Office expressed condolences to the victim's family and praised the collaborative effort in apprehending the suspect.
