Firefighters battle 2-alarm early morning house fire in Normandy Park on July 4

A two-alarm house fire broke out early Friday morning in the 18500 block of Normandy Terrace SW in Normandy Park, requiring a significant firefighting response. King County Fire District 2 and Puget Sound Fire dispatched numerous units to the scene after the fire was reported at 3:31 a. m. Fire crews faced challenges as the flames spread into the home's roof structure, which contained rigid foam insulation. They employed chainsaws to cut into the roof, enabling them to extinguish the flames effectively.

After over 90 minutes of battling the fire, firefighters successfully knocked down the flames and eliminated hotspots. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. King County Medic One and Zone 3 Fire Cadets assisted at the scene, highlighting the collaborative effort in responding to the incident. The swift action of the firefighters prevented further damage and ensured community safety.
