Burien, WALocal News

Burien marked its 102nd Annual Independence Day Parade on July 4, which began at 11 a. m. , featuring a vibrant mix of marching bands, classic cars, and local businesses. Thousands lined the streets to partake in one of South King County's cherished traditions. Following the parade, neighborhoods across Burien engaged in barbecues and fireworks, reflecting a strong sense of community.

A flag-raising ceremony at Three Tree Point highlighted the day, hosted by local residents Candy and Mick Rice in a scenic setting. Musical performances and community commentary enriched the event, which also honored veterans and crowned this year's King and Queen. Attendees celebrated not just independence but the importance of community ties. The events served as a reminder that the strength of the nation lies in its people rather than in individual leaders. Burien's festivities underscored both local pride and the historical significance of Independence Day.
