Burien Eagles will host a BBQ fundraiser for K9s For Warriors on September 8, 2024, from 1 to 4 p. m. The event aims to combat the tragic statistic of 20 veterans committing suicide daily by raising funds and awareness. Nikki Sharp, Secretary of Burien Eagles, is spearheading the initiative, with backing from the American Legion Burien Post 134. Commander Chuck Rangel expressed gratitude for the community's ongoing support for veterans, emphasizing the program's importance in helping them recover with the aid of service dogs.

Attendees can enjoy BBQ, live music from the Unknown Uncles, and the chance to win raffle baskets. Advance ticket purchases are essential to ensure the fundraiser's success. The K9s For Warriors program provides service dogs to veterans facing PTSD and other challenges, fostering healing through companionship.
