Burien, WALocal News

A serious collision on June 28, 2025, involving eight vehicles—including three motorcycles—left six individuals injured and halted northbound traffic on I-5 near Southcenter Parkway for nearly five hours. Troopers from the Washington State Patrol indicated that the crash began at approximately 9:48 p. m. when a speeding white BMW struck another vehicle, triggering a chain-reaction crash. The BMW lost control and collided with a motorcycle, ejecting the rider onto the left shoulder.

Following the initial impact, the BMW continued to strike additional vehicles in the high occupancy vehicle lane. The 20-year-old BMW driver was taken to Valley Medical Center and faces charges for disregarding the safety of others. Fortunately, none of the six people injured sustained life-threatening injuries. Authorities have confirmed that drugs or alcohol are not suspected to have played a role in the crash, which is still under investigation. Such incidents highlight ongoing concerns regarding speeding and road safety in the region.
