Environmental Science Centers Beach Naturalist program continues at Seahurst Park for Summer 2025

The Environmental Science Center (ESC) launched its Beach Naturalist program at Seahurst Park, commencing June 24, 2025. This initiative offers hands-on educational experiences during specific low tide events, allowing visitors to engage with the local marine ecosystem. Staff and volunteers will guide participants in exploring tide pools and learning about various marine organisms while emphasizing the importance of environmental preservation. Organizers highlighted the program's goal of fostering community connections and sharing knowledge about marine life. The program is free and supported by the City of Burien and 4Culture.

Participants can check the schedule online to find out when ESC staff will be present. This initiative encourages environmental stewardship among visitors of all ages. The program runs through late July, with multiple sessions planned to accommodate the community.
