Lowell man driving scooter struck and killed by vehicle in Dracut, police say

A tragic accident on Route 110 in Dracut claimed the life of 43-year-old Michael Lacrosse from Lowell on Tuesday afternoon. The collision occurred around 3:44 p. m. when Lacrosse, riding a motor scooter, crossed into the eastbound lane, resulting in a crash with another vehicle. Bystanders performed CPR until police and fire crews took over, but Lacrosse was pronounced dead at Lowell General Hospital shortly after.

The 50-year-old driver of the other vehicle, a woman from Methuen, remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with authorities. Dracut police are conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances of the crash, enlisting the help of the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction team. The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office is also playing a role in the investigation, highlighting the incident's seriousness. Fatal scooter accidents raise concerns about road safety and the need for increased awareness among drivers and riders alike.
