A small plane crashed near Beverly Regional Airport in Massachusetts on Thursday, resulting in one death and one critical injury. The incident occurred on Sam Fonzo Drive shortly after 8:50 a. m. , according to Beverly Police Chief John G. LeLacheur.

The single-engine aircraft struck a utility pole, leaving the plane heavily damaged and debris scattered across the roadway.
