Keep Your Kids Nourished This Summer with SUN Bucks What Boston Families Need to Know

Boston, MALocal News

The Massachusetts DTA announces the SUN Bucks program, providing $120 grocery cards to families with school-aged children during the summer. Most eligible families, including those receiving SNAP or DTA cash benefits, are automatically enrolled and will receive their cards by mail. Families who don’t receive a card by June 30 should contact the SUN Bucks hotline to confirm eligibility. Those not automatically enrolled can apply if their children receive specific benefits or if their household meets income limits for school meals. Applications are available online and in multiple languages through schools.

The new EBT cards will function like debit cards, requiring a PIN setup before use. Benefits will start in July 2025 and must be used within 122 days to prevent expiration. This initiative aims to alleviate food insecurity for children during the summer months in Massachusetts.
