Mayor Michelle Wu officially launched construction of a $16 million EMS station on the South Boston Waterfront today, enhancing emergency medical response capabilities in the neighborhood. The station will include a two-bay ambulance garage, public restrooms, and a lounge area for EMS personnel, addressing a significant rise in emergency calls over the past decade. Boston EMS Chief James Hooley highlighted the importance of the facility in improving response times and health outcomes.
