Mayor Wu Announces the 2025 Legacy Business Award Winners

Mayor Michelle Wu announced the winners of the 2025 Legacy Business Awards, honoring 30 businesses from 18 neighborhoods in Boston. The awardees, collectively in operation for over 1,200 years, will be recognized at a public ceremony on June 3 at the Calderwood Pavilion. Mayor Wu emphasized the importance of these legacy businesses in fostering community connections and resources. Awardees will receive grant support and wrap-around technical assistance designed to ensure their continued success. The Mayor’s Office of Small Business received over 1,450 nominations, demonstrating robust local support for these enterprises.

The selection process involved community nominations and a review by the City Council and other representatives. This initiative builds on Mayor Wu’s commitment to making Boston a city for everyone, highlighting the vital role of small businesses in community wellbeing. The Legacy Business Program is recognized as the most expansive in the nation.
