City of Boston and Boston Legacy Football Club Announce Updates on Supplier Diversity Initiatives for White Stadium

Boston, MALocal News

The City of Boston and the Boston Legacy Football Club (BLFC) have unveiled important updates on supplier diversity initiatives for the White Stadium renovation project. A central element of this initiative is the launch of the Supplier Diversity Initiative Dashboard, designed to enhance access to contracting opportunities for local minority- and women-owned businesses. Mayor Michelle Wu emphasized the dashboard's significance in promoting economic development and ensuring equitable access for community members. This tool will help track the project’s goal of awarding 50% of all contracting dollars to M/WBEs throughout its various phases. Recent community engagement events, including two successful Contracting Opportunity Fairs, have demonstrated strong interest and participation from local business owners.

The next fair is scheduled for May 20 at the Grove Hall Library, where attendees can connect with project teams and learn about contracting opportunities. This initiative not only aims to foster economic growth but also reinforces the City’s commitment to transparency and accountability. The collaboration between the City and BLFC reflects a broader strategy to engage the community in significant local developments.
