Applications For Bostons Youth Summer Jobs Program Are Now Open

Applications for Boston's youth summer jobs program are officially open for summer 2025, as announced by Mayor Michelle Wu and the Office of Youth Employment and Opportunity. This initiative invites young residents aged 14 to 24 to apply through futureBOS, a centralized platform for job opportunities. Last summer, the program set a record by hiring 10,427 youth, reflecting its growing importance in the community. Participants reported high satisfaction rates, with 94% feeling better prepared for future employment and 97. 3% recommending the program to peers.

The city aims to deepen its engagement with Boston Public Schools to ensure that eligible students can access these job opportunities. Mayor Wu emphasized that investing in youth is vital for the community's future and fosters leadership among young people. The program partners with over 200 organizations to offer diverse employment experiences and support at-risk youth populations. In collaboration with the Commonwealth Corporation YouthWorks, the city is dedicated to providing equitable access to summer jobs for all youth.
