Age Strong and Boston Tax Help Coalition Partner to Help Boston Seniors Maximize Their Tax Refunds

Boston, MALocal News

The Age Strong Commission and the Boston Tax Help Coalition (BTHC) have joined forces to help seniors in Boston maximize their tax benefits, focusing on essential programs like tax exemptions and the Senior Circuit Breaker Tax Credit. Property Tax Application Assistance Clinics are being held citywide for residents aged 60 and above, providing crucial support in navigating tax-related processes. Brian Robinson, Assistant Deputy Director of BTHC, highlighted the coalition's commitment to ensuring that older homeowners receive all available savings, reflecting the positive impact of their training and volunteer recruitment efforts. The BTHC also offers free tax preparation services at 30 locations, targeting households with an annual income of $70,000 or less, available both remotely and in person to enhance accessibility. Language interpretation services are provided in several languages, ensuring inclusivity for Boston's diverse population.

Furthermore, the coalition prioritizes accommodations for taxpayers with disabilities, partnering with DEAF, Inc. to offer dedicated service days for visually and hearing-impaired residents.
