Property Tax Application Assistance Clinics to Help Older Adults Across Boston

Boston, MALocal News

In an effort to support Boston's older residents, Mayor Wu and the Age Strong Commission are organizing Property Tax Application Assistance Clinics throughout the city until the end of March. These clinics are designed for individuals aged 60 and above, providing guidance on property tax exemptions, fuel assistance, SNAP benefits, and more. During a recent clinic at the Boston Public Library in Roxbury, Mayor Wu emphasized the importance of making city resources accessible in local neighborhoods. Each clinic will feature Age Strong Advocates trained to assist attendees in navigating available financial resources, ensuring comprehensive support. The initiative highlights several existing programs that offer significant savings, including the Residential Exemption, which can reduce property tax bills by up to $3,984, and the Senior Property Tax Deferral Program.

Residents are encouraged to register for appointments by contacting the Age Strong Commission directly. This initiative not only aims to alleviate financial burdens but also promotes the health and well-being of older adults in Boston.
