Mass. man reports being shot with pellet gun while golfing

A 77-year-old man, Gary Louie, was shot with a pellet gun while golfing at the Leo J. Martin Golf Course in Weston on Thursday morning. The pellet hit him in the side but did not penetrate his jacket, leaving him uninjured. Fellow golfer Tony Ferrara immediately called 911 after hearing a second pellet strike nearby. Responding officers arrived quickly, deploying cruisers and helicopters to assess the situation.

As of Thursday night, Weston police have not made any arrests or identified a suspect but have alerted Massachusetts State Police and MBTA Transit Police. Authorities confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public. The incident raises concerns about safety at public recreational areas and the potential for serious injury from such reckless actions. Golfers are hopeful that swift police action will prevent future incidents of this nature.
