NH resident found guilty in stabbing death of brother-in-law

Ren Rodgers, 28, of Hollis, New Hampshire, was found guilty of second-degree murder for stabbing his brother-in-law, Christopher Kellar, on February 20, 2021. The fatal incident occurred at Hotel Indigo in Boston, where the couples had gathered to celebrate a birthday. Tensions escalated after an argument between Kellar and Rodgers' wife, prompting Kellar to leave the room. Upon returning for a phone charger, Kellar and Rodgers engaged in a physical confrontation, during which Rodgers stabbed Kellar, leaving the knife protruding from his back. Emergency responders transported Kellar to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Following the stabbing, Rodgers reportedly stated, “no one touches my wife. ” The jury's decision reflects the serious implications of domestic disputes that can escalate into violence. Rodgers is scheduled for sentencing on December 17 in Suffolk Superior Court.
