Mayors Office of Housing and Commonwealth Land Trust Celebrate Grand Opening of 570 Warren Street and the Trusts 40th Anniversary

The Mayor’s Office of Housing and Commonwealth Land Trust celebrated the grand opening of 570 Warren Street in Dorchester, which offers 26 affordable single-room occupancy units, including 11 accessible units. The event marked CLT’s 40th anniversary, showcasing their partnership with the City of Boston in expanding affordable housing. Sheila A. Dillon, Chief of Housing, noted the project exemplifies the City’s commitment to aiding vulnerable residents. Renovations included major upgrades to safety, accessibility, and energy efficiency, with improvements made to both the building’s exterior and interior.

The project delivers permanent supportive housing with integrated services to promote long-term stability. CLT manages over 400 affordable supportive housing units across Massachusetts, helping residents achieve independence. Under Mayor Michelle Wu's leadership, Boston has produced over 18,000 new homes since her term began, including many income-restricted units. Innovative programs initiated by the City aim to convert vacant buildings into homes while supporting residents facing housing instability.
