The Mayor’s Office of Housing and DVM Housing Partners announced significant advancements on BLUME on the Ave, an affordable housing initiative in Mattapan. The development will include 30 income-restricted homes and over 3,000 square feet of commercial space aimed at serving the neighborhood. Chief of Housing Sheila Dillon emphasized the project’s role in returning City-owned land to community use. Homes will feature various sizes, promoting affordability and sustainability in a culturally vibrant area. DVM Housing Partners, led by founder Dariela Villón-Maga, engaged local voices in the project’s development, ensuring the new homes reflect the community's culture.

The project is financed through partnerships with the City of Boston and various housing organizations. Construction is currently underway, with homeownership opportunities to be offered transparently to eligible households. BLUME on the Ave represents a broader strategy to enhance the Lower Blue Hill Avenue corridor while prioritizing community leadership and economic opportunity.
