Moose hit by one car and then another on N.H. highway

A serious crash on Route 101 in Candia, New Hampshire, resulted in one passenger being hospitalized and a moose being euthanized on Wednesday night. The New Hampshire State Police stated that a Mazda 3 struck the moose, which subsequently crossed the median and was hit again by a Kia Sportage. The injured adult passenger was transported to Elliot Hospital with severe injuries, while the moose was euthanized due to its condition. Police warned that fall brings increased wildlife activity, urging drivers to use high beams and manage their speed to enhance their response to wildlife on the roads. This incident underscores the risks associated with wildlife crossings in populated areas, particularly during seasonal migrations.
