DA Malden man arrested, two others charged in connection to fatal Dedham shooting

Three individuals face charges related to a June shooting in a Dedham BJ’s parking lot that left one dead and another injured. James Brown, 23, has been charged with murder and is set for arraignment on October 1 in Norfolk Superior Court. Franci Villar, 23, was arrested earlier and will be arraigned on October 2 for related charges. Both Brown and Villar are held without bail by prosecutors. Ivelisse D.

Santiago, 24, pleaded not guilty to accessory charges and is free on $25,000 cash bail. The shooting occurred during a car meet-up organized through social media, highlighting concerns about safety at such events. Jaylani Cole, 20, died from his injuries sustained in the shooting, while another victim, also 20, is expected to survive. Law enforcement agencies continue to investigate the broader implications of the incident and any additional suspects involved.
