Man in critical condition after falling off boat off Newburyport

A man fell off a boat about five miles off Newburyport and was transported to a hospital in critical condition on Tuesday. Newburyport police and fire departments received a report of the incident at approximately 3:45 p. m. Other boaters on-site provided CPR until first responders arrived to take over. They brought the man to a private dock on Plum Island Point, where he was further transported to a nearby hospital.

His current medical status is unclear. This incident underscores the risks of boating and the importance of immediate medical response in emergencies. Newburyport's waterways are popular for recreational boating, drawing many visitors each year. Local authorities continue to emphasize safety precautions for boaters to prevent similar incidents.
