The Boston City Council officially recognized September 23, 2025, as International Celebrate Bisexuality Day and Bi+ Visibility Day, marking its 26th anniversary. This resolution honors the lives and experiences of bisexual+ individuals while addressing the stigma they face. A 2024 study indicated that over 80 percent of bi+ individuals reported discrimination within the LGBTQIA+ community, affecting their visibility and participation in LGBTQIA+ spaces. The resolution urges government agencies, schools, and businesses to actively promote inclusion and dismantle stigma towards bisexual+ residents. Historical milestones include San Francisco’s proclamation of Bisexual Pride Day in 1990 and BiNet USA's National Bisexual Conference.

The Council also highlighted health disparities faced by bisexual+ individuals, particularly among youth. It noted that more than 40 percent of LGBTQ+ individuals of color identify as bisexual, emphasizing the need for intersectional awareness. By adopting this resolution, the Council reaffirms its commitment to supporting the dignity and rights of Boston's bisexual+ community.
