Mayor Wu Announces New Allston-Brighton and East Boston Neighborhood Liaisons
Mayor Michelle Wu appointed Jennifer Roberts and Carlos Garcia as the new neighborhood liaisons for Allston-Brighton and East Boston, respectively. Roberts, previously the Student Engagement Lead at the Harvard Radcliffe Institute, is committed to advocating for housing affordability and youth engagement. Garcia comes from Tree Eastie, where he focused on housing relocation and equitable resource access. Mayor Wu highlighted their vital roles in connecting communities with city services. Roberts, a Chicago native, has lived in Boston for over a decade, while Garcia has spent a decade in East Boston.
Lindsey Santana, Executive Director of the Office of Neighborhood Services, encouraged residents to engage with their liaisons during weekly office hours. Both liaisons have already begun connecting with constituents to address local concerns. Their appointments reflect the city's commitment to enhance community engagement and support.
