The City of Boston announced significant parking restrictions and street closures for events on September 28 and October 5, 2025. The Allston/Brighton Parade will step off at 1:00 p. m. on September 28, coinciding with the Brian J. Honan 5K Run/Walk at noon.

On October 5, the annual Jimmy Fund Walk will follow the Boston Marathon route, concluding at Boston Common. City officials encourage residents to walk, bike, or use public transit, with resources for Bluebikes and the MBTA accessible online. The MBTA recommends purchasing round-trip tickets for quicker returns. These restrictions are designed to enhance safety and accessibility during these popular events. Specific streets will be impacted, including Brighton Avenue, Harvard Avenue, and Beacon Street, among others.

Parking bans will remain in effect throughout the day to minimize congestion.
