Joshua Burrell-Thompson, who graduated from PowerCorps Boston in June 2023, now serves as a Foreman at the City of Boston’s Parks and Recreation Department. This program, aimed at young adults aged 18-30, provides crucial hands-on training and career readiness support for the green industry. Joshua found the program while delivering food and describes it as a life-changing experience. Through PowerCorps, he completed a rigorous curriculum that included training in Urban Forestry, where he gained both technical skills and improved his ability to work with others. His journey from being a Tree Equipment Operator to a Foreman showcases the program's effectiveness in empowering its graduates.

Joshua emphasizes the importance of communication and teamwork within his crew, contributing to a positive work environment. He aspires to further his career by becoming a General Foreman and studying to become an arborist. His advice for prospective participants is to remain open-minded and willing to learn.
