Advance Removal And Depositing Of Mail-in And In-person Early Voted Ballots

The City of Boston will remove and deposit mail-in and early voted ballots into a tabulator at City Hall from September 1 to September 9, 2025. Daily processing will occur from 9 a. m. to 5 p. m.

, with the potential for earlier processing on Election Day. Ballots received before September 5 will be centrally tabulated, while those submitted by 2 p. m. on Election Day will be sent to their precincts for processing. Any ballots arriving after 2 p.

m. will be processed after polls close at 8 p. m. The public can observe the entire ballot processing operation, promoting transparency and trust in the electoral process. Room 801 at City Hall will remain open until the polls close.
