Mayor Michelle Wu praised the collaborative efforts across various departments to create a supportive environment for newcomers. The Boston 311 service operates 24/7, allowing residents to report non-emergency issues and access information through a user-friendly mobile app. To ensure safety, the Inspectional Services Department will deploy over 50 inspectors in student-heavy neighborhoods to conduct inspections and distribute guides on city resources. During the move-in period, the Boston Transportation Department will enforce parking restrictions to facilitate the arrival of new residents.
Over 4,500 moving truck permits have been issued to help streamline the process. The city encourages students to maintain cleanliness and report any pest issues promptly. These preparations are part of Boston's commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive community for all residents.
