Israeli flag vandalism, swastikas drawn at Concord school under investigation

Boston, MALocal News

Concord police investigate antisemitic incidents, including vandalism of Israeli flags and swastikas drawn at a high school. Security footage captured a male entering a resident's backyard and destroying dozens of flags, including one that read, "We stand with Israel. " Kurt Schwartz, CEO of the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis, condemned the actions as hate and intimidation, emphasizing their intentional nature. Weeks prior, anti-Israeli messages were chalked outside Schwartz's home. Meanwhile, a student reported that swastikas were drawn during a ninth-grade orientation at Concord-Carlisle Regional High School.

Superintendent Laurie Hunter stated that the school is responding with urgency, engaging students about the harmfulness of such symbols. The Anti-Defamation League previously accused the school district of failing to protect Jewish students, citing a pattern of antisemitic bullying and threats. No arrests have been made, and police have not confirmed if the incidents are linked.
