1 person seriously injured in drunken driving crash on Bourne Bridge, police say

A serious drunken driving crash on the Bourne Bridge late Friday night left one person injured. At around 9:30 p. m. , a Ford F-250 collided with a sport utility vehicle, prompting a temporary closure of the bridge for about an hour. Three individuals from the SUV received medical attention, with one requiring trauma care.

Massachusetts State Police charged the truck driver, Garret Mullen, 37, from Lewiston, Maine, with driving under the influence and illegal possession of a firearm. Mullen is expected to face multiple charges in Falmouth District Court on Monday. The incident underscores the persistent issue of impaired driving in the area.
