Boston will enforce parking restrictions from August 31 to September 1, 2025, to facilitate student move-in activities at Boston University. The restrictions will be in effect from 8 a. m. to 8 p. m.

on several streets, including Pratt Street and Ashford Street. Northeastern University will implement similar restrictions from August 26 to September 2, impacting streets such as Opera Place and Gainsborough Street. In Roxbury, parking will be restricted on Columbus Avenue and Coventry Street during the same timeframe. The restrictions aim to alleviate congestion as students and residents relocate, which is crucial for maintaining traffic flow in busy neighborhoods. Move-in day on September 1 will have additional restrictions in Mission Hill to further ease the transition for new residents.

The city encourages residents and visitors to plan accordingly to avoid disruptions. These measures demonstrate Boston's proactive approach to managing urban traffic during peak times.
