Braintree Little League team returns back to Mass. after World Series journey
The Braintree Americans received a hero’s welcome upon returning home from the Little League World Series after competing in Williamsport. They advanced to the tournament by winning the New England Regional Championship but faced challenges, losing two of their three games. Despite these losses, the community rallied, with fans attending watch parties to support the team. Second baseman Logan Needle expressed surprise at the turnout, highlighting the significance of their journey. Assistant coach Shaun Needle praised the overwhelming support and fundraising efforts from the community.
Nick DiMartino, of Braintree American Little League, noted the team's representation as a point of pride for the local area. The mayor announced plans for an official celebration to honor the team’s achievements in September. The team's journey not only showcased their skill but also united the community in support of youth sports.
