Vehicle carjacked with child inside from Mass. hospital

A child escaped unharmed when a carjacker stole a vehicle from outside Heywood Hospital in Gardner, Massachusetts, on Monday afternoon. The suspect drove a short distance before instructing the child to exit the vehicle. Massachusetts State Police tracked the stolen car using a cellphone left inside and monitored its path along Route 2 and Interstate 495 North. Officers opted not to pursue due to the suspect's erratic driving. Lowell police later found the vehicle abandoned, prompting an ongoing investigation.

Authorities have identified the suspect, but their name has not been released. This incident highlights concerns about child safety and vehicle theft in public areas. Police continue efforts to locate and apprehend the suspect.
