Donations needed after beagles named for bagels surrendered to ARL

Boston, MALocal News

The Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) has taken in ten beagles named after bagels from an overcrowded kennel in Northwestern Massachusetts. These dogs, aged up to 8 years, are described as friendly and well-fed. ARL worked with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services Team to rescue the beagles, which were surrendered by their owners amid an ongoing investigation. The organization highlighted the serious health concerns arising from animal overcrowding, noting that rescued animals often require extensive care. ARL is providing veterinary exams, behavior assessments, and spay/neuter services for the dogs.

Meanwhile, the remaining beagles will be transferred to shelters in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts. To support the sudden influx of animals, ARL is actively seeking donations. The organization aims to ensure that these beagles receive the compassionate care they need to thrive.
