New Rolling Grant Program to Support Organizations Working With Older Adults

Boston, MALocal News

Mayor Michelle Wu launched the “Age Strong Rolling Grants” program to support organizations working with older adults in Boston. The initiative allocates up to $150,000 to enhance community engagement for residents aged 55 and older, with applications opening on August 13. Grants of up to $2,500 will be awarded on a rolling basis until May 2026. Funding priorities include social engagement programming in underserved areas and cultural celebrations aimed at reducing social isolation. Age Strong Commissioner Emily Shea stated that the program is designed to broaden access to funding, allowing innovative ideas to flourish.

José F. Massó, Chief of Human Services, noted that many residents have great ideas but lack the financial resources to implement them. The program aims to strengthen social connections and improve the quality of life for older residents. Organizations must meet specific eligibility requirements, including being a nonprofit or having a fiscal sponsor, to apply for the grants.
