Woman jumps from 2nd-floor balcony into officers arms to escape Wrentham blaze

Boston, MALocal News

A woman jumped from a second-floor balcony into the arms of police officers to escape a fire at her Wrentham home. Officers from the Wrentham Police Department arrived after receiving multiple 911 calls and found the first floor engulfed in flames. They located the woman on the balcony and instructed her to jump, as they could not access her from inside due to the fire's severity. After she fell into their arms, she was transported to a local hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. The Wrentham Fire Department successfully contained the blaze, despite facing challenges from a heat wave and the house's location on Lake Pearl.

One firefighter was hospitalized for dehydration while battling the fire. Local authorities praised the quick actions of the officers, highlighting the dangers first responders face during emergencies. This incident underscores the importance of rapid response in fire situations.
